I teach positive, practical, sensible, functional dog training methods that simply work. Are they magic? No. Will your dog be "cured" in 30 minutes? Of course not! That's not the real world. Real world dog training takes change, not just on the dog's part, but on the owner's part. Are you willing to meet your dog halfway, making some simple changes in your own behavior and expectations, in order to help your dog improve his behavior? I've been tremendously fortunate to have had a wide range of experience in working with dog behavior and training over the past twenty years. But, to boil it down to essentials, what I have learned is this:

• If you communicate clearly and effectively (so that your dog can understand), you're 3/4 of the way there.
• Trust is not hard to earn, but can easily be lost.
• Leadership is primarily about taking initiative, not about bullying or posturing.
• Respect is a two-way street.
• Structure, rules, and expectations are as good for dogs as they are for kids.
• Every dog deserves to learn to exercise self-control.
• A dog's brain is truly a terrible thing to waste.
